The 2001 R1 carried over the 2000 revisions: aerodynamic bodywork, reshaped seat and tank, re-jetted carburettors and an improved gearbox. It was the last carburetted R1 before fuel injection arrived for 2002. The page describing it reprints a 2000 group test, so it largely reflects the 2000 spec.
